Completed Projects
Singleton Gym & Swim
This project was quite a challenge to improve a dated facility within a tight budget.. We worked with the architects from Facility Design Group to provide a significant upgrade to the existing recreational facility that included a heated indoor pool, a spa and a modern gymnasium. The structure needed to be durable and functional while the building design needed to facilitate efficient management of public spaces.
John Oxley Motors
The new VW showroom and workshop extension for John Oxley Motors was completed by BDM Constructions in late 2013. Designed by Wayne Ellis Architects, the showroom is high, open and modern. The large workshop area, situated behind the showroom, has a concrete roof slab that also doubles as a parking area for the storage of vehicles. Accessed by a ramp on the southern side, the roof slab utilises post-tensioned concrete to achieve a watertight structure and to span up to 10m over the workshop below. All structural design was completed in house by GRCE ensuring full control over the design process.
Macquarie Business Park 1
A major commercial office development that was developed in two stages. The two buildings provide multiple levels of high quality office space over basement car parking.
Macquarie Business Park 2
The two buildings in this commercial complex utilise post tensioned concrete band beam and one way floor slabs supported on concrete columns and a structural steel roof frame braced by concrete columns. Considerable effort was required to develop efficient structural solutions to solve the many architectural details, such as the large cantilevered blade walls on building one.
Port Home Zone
Port Home Zone comprises 10,000 sqm. of commercial and retail floor space and a Harvey Norman Store. This is a large retail development that uses onsite tilt up concrete wall panels and structural steel roof framing.
Emmaus Aged Care
Emmaus I opened in 2005 to provide High Level Care for 50 residents. Emmaus has since been significantly expanded in 2010 and offers a person-centred care approach to its 115 residents. Emmaus 2, with an overall floor area of approximately 4000m², provides 65 beds for low care residents on the existing Emmaus Nursing Home site in Port Macquarie. This new $9.0m state of the art facility provides a modern living environment, whilst ensuring a homely and comfortable feel for residents. The architecturally striking addition to the existing Nursing Home is stage two in a three stage forward works program which will ultimately become the home of the aged care in Port Macquarie for the St Agnes Parish.
Externally, extensive paving, covered walkways and sitting areas within impressive landscaped gardens ensure residents experience the best of what nature has on offer. This project involved working closely with the architects to resolve the many small construction details that made the project as success.

St Joseph's Regional College
St. Joseph’s Regional College was re-located to a new 15 hectare site in Sovereign Hills for the start of 2009. The Regional College introduced Stage 6 starting with Year 11 in 2010 and Year 12 in 2011. The school buildings adopted many non traditional building forms that required development of structural solutions from first principal. These efficient structural solutions to the unique building forms added significantly to the success of the completed facility.
